There will be no third season for Lifetime’s drama series The Client List. The network has cancelled the Jennifer Love Hewitt fronted drama after airing only two seasons of the series.

Based on Lifetime’s two hour TV movie of the same name, The Client List revolves around Riley Parks, who, after being deserted by her husband takes a job at a seemingly traditional day spa in a neighbouring town, but she soon discovers that the spa is merely a front for other “services” being offered by the employees. The drama series is produced by Sony Pictures Television, Fedora Films & Jaffe/Braunstein and stars Jennifer Love Hewitt, Cybil Sheppard, Loretta Devine, Colin Egglesfield. Rebecca Field, Naturi Naughton, Alicia Lagano, Kathleen York and Brian Hallisay.

The move to cancel the series comes after The Client List suffered some ratings declines in its second season and after Lifetime and Sony Pictures Television experienced creative differences with Hewitt over the show’s potential third season. The decision is also understood to be down to the fact that Lifetime has since successfully launched two new drama series: Devious Maids and Witches Of East End.
