Good Food Orders Choccywoccydoodah Christmas Special – TVWise

Following on from the success that the channel saw with Choccywoccydoodah: Starstruck, the UKTV owned and operated Good Food channel has commissioned Twofour to produce a Choccywoccydoodah Christmas Special, which will document the business as is enters one of its busiest and most flamboyant seasons of the year. This is the second Christmas special that UKTV has confirmed in as many days; following on from yesterday’s announcement that the company had ordered a pair of Dynamo Christmas specials for their Watch channel.
Tentatively titled Choccywoccydoodah: Christmas, the hour-long special will be narrated by Stephen Tompkinson and showcase Christine and the team as they create some of their most iconic Christmas masterpieces to date. For the first time, viewers will also see them making some exquisite creations, which could provide seasonal cake and tree decorating inspiration. The special will also see the team build the window displays in both the Brighton and London stores, with each display set to feature wishing trees, owls, fauna, polar bears and penguins. The special, which is being produced by Twofour, was commissioned by UKTV’s Senior Commissioning Editor Catherine Catton, ordered by Good Food’s General Manager Clare Laycock and will be overseen by UKTV’s Commissioning Executive Shirani Sabaratnam. The executive producer is Juliet Rice, while Lynda Parkhurst will also serve as producer.
“We’re delighted to be showcasing a festive slice of Choccywoccydoodah on Good Food, so that viewers get to experience the world of this spectacular cake and chocolate emporium at this special time of year”, said UKTV’s Senior Commissioning Editor Catherine Catton.
Good Food’s General Manager Clare Laycock commented: “Christmas is a busy time of year for Good Food, which traditionally sees its highest viewing figures from mid-November through to January. Choccywoccydoodah: Christmas is a great addition to the channel’s content and will enhance our schedule at the tail end of 2013.”
While Executive Producer Juliet Rice added: “For the team at Choccywoccydodah, Christmas is one of the most magical times of the year. We can’t wait to be able to work with Good Food once more to unveil the festive window displays and outlandish cake designs that are signature Choccy.”
