FOX Acquires UK Rights To Frank Darabont's 'Mob City' & 'Braquo' Season 3 – TVWise

Frank Darabont’s newest scripted effort, TNT’s limited series Mob City has found a UK home.
FOX UK has closed a deal with Warner Bros. International Television Distribution to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to the 1940s set drama, which is set to air on FOX UK in January 2014. In addition, Fox has also picked up the exclusive first run UK rights to the third season of French drama series Braquo, which will premiere on the channel in Spring 2014. The FIC owned and operated channel has also confirmed (as TVWise has previously reported) that they have picked up the rights to NCIS season 11 and American Dad season 9, with both also set for early 2014 premieres alongside the channel’s original commission Man Up.
Based on the book L.A. Noir: The Struggle for the Soul of America’s Most Seductive City by John Buntin, Mob City is set in the 1940s in post-war Los Angeles, home to glamorous movie stars, powerful studio heads and returning war heroes. But it’s also a city caught between a powerful and corrupt police force and an even more dangerous criminal network determined to make L.A. its West Coast base. Los Angeles Police Chief William Parker has made it his mission to free the city of criminals like Ben “Bugsy” Siegel and Mickey Cohen, the ruthless king of the Los Angeles underworld. Parker also won’t hesitate to go after anyone from his own police force who sells out honor and duty for the sake of a big payout. The drama series is produced by TNT Originals and stars Neal McDonough (Desperate Housewives), Jeremy Luke (Don Jon), Ed Burns (Entourage), Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead), Jeffrey DeMunn (The Walking Dead), Jeremy Strong (The Happening), Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes), Ron Rifkin (Alias), Pihla Viitala (Tears of April), Gregory Itzin (24), Robert Knepper (Prison Break), Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes) and Alexa Davalos (The Mist).
