Rose Leslie, Tom Burke & More Join Cast Of Channel 4’s ‘Utopia’

Rose Leslie (Game of Thrones), Tom Burke (The Hour), Trystan Gravelle (Mr Selfridge), Michael Maloney (New Worlds) and Ian McDiarmid (Star Wars) have joined the cast of Channel 4’s drama series Utopia for its upcoming six episode second season, TVWise has learned.

Created by Dennis Kelly, Utopia follows Ian, Becky, Grant and Wilson Wilson, a small group of people who find themselves in possession of a manuscript of cult graphic novel The Utopia Experiments. Their lives are soon knocked out of kilter by explosive events. Targeted swiftly and relentlessly by a murderous organisation known as The Network this terrified group are left with only one option if they want to survive: they have to run. The drama series is produced by Kudos Film & TV and stars Fiona O’Shaughnessy (Jessica Hyde), Alexandra Roach (Becky), Nathan Stewart-Jarrett (Ian), Adeel Akhtar (Wilson Wilson), Oliver Woollford (Grant), Paul Higgins (Dugdale), Neil Maskell (Arby) and Geraldine James (Milner).

The show’s second season, which consists of six episodes, was ordered by Channel 4 back in March 2013 and has just begun production. The six new episodes were written by series creator Dennis Kelly (Spooks) and will be directed by Marc Munden, who also directed the opening block of episodes for the show’s first season. The executive producers are Dennis Kelly, Marc Munden Jane Featherstone and Karen Wilson.
