MTV has renewed their hit drama Teen Wolf for a fourth season of 12 episodes, the network announced Saturday at NYCC.
Based on the feature film of the same name, Teen Wolf revolves around Scot McCall, a gifted high school athlete whose entire life changes when he is bitten by a werewolf. The drama series stars Tyler Posey as Scott McCall, Crystal Reed as Allison Argent, Dylan O’Brien as Stiles, Tyler Hoechlin as Derek Hale, Holland Roden as Lydia Martin and Colton Haynes as Jackson Whittemore.
The renewal comes half way through the show’s 24 episode third season, which is set to return to MTV to air the final 12 episodes of said season on Monday January 6 at 10/9c. In addition, the network also announced a new talk show to accompany the series – in the same vein as AMC’s The Talking Dead – titled Wolf Watch, which will be hosted by Jill Wagner and debut behind new episodes of Teen Wolf in January. The pick up also comes after the first half of Teen Wolf‘s third season averaged a 2.5 P12-34 rating and 2.8 million total viewers each week, making it the highest-rated and most-watched season to date. The first half of season three also ranked as the #1 program in its time slot each week.
