Hallmark Channel has picked up its latest drama project Signed, Sealed, Delivered to series with a 10 episode order. The show’s two-hour backdoor pilot will air on Hallmark on Saturday October 12th at 9/8c. Muse Distribution International will launch the first season of Signed, Sealed, Delivered - which consists of a 2 hour backdoor pilot and 10 one-hour episodes – to international buyers at MIPCOM in Cannes, France, next week.

Created by Martha Williamson (Touched By An Angel), Signed, Sealed, Delivered follows a quartet of civil servants who transform themselves into an elite team of lost-mail detectives working in the Dead Letter Office. Their determination to deliver the undeliverable takes them out of the post office and into an unpredictable world where letters and packages from the past save lives, solve crimes, reunite old loves and change futures by arriving late but always miraculously on time. The drama series is produced by Special Delivery TeleProductions in association with MoonWater Productions & Muse Entertainment and stars Eric Mabius (Ugly Betty), Kristin Booth (The Kennedys) and Daphne Zuniga (Melrose Place). The executive producers are Martha Williamson, Joel S.Rice (Cyberbully), Michael Prupas (The Kennedys) and Scott Smith (Skins), who is also director of the pilot episode.

“We are making history at Hallmark Channel by joining forces with Martha Williamson, one of TV’s great storytellers, as she returns to television making the kind of series we know tens of millions of viewers are yearning for,” said Michelle Vicary, Executive Vice President of Programming for Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel. “This marks a significant milestone in our growth into scripted programming, and we couldn’t be happier to have the opportunity to work with the very gifted and talented Martha Williamson, who brings her trusted name in family entertainment to our network.”

This marks the third series pick up for Hallmark Channel as they are making a push into scripted series for the first time. The approach has been piloting projects as TV movies, an area where Hallmark has a track record, and then deciding on series orders. That said, Signed, Sealed, Delivered has followed the same trajectory as the network’s first prime-time scripted series Cedar Cove; landing a series order before the pilot has aired. This series order also follows on from Hallmark renewing Cedar Cove for a second season earlier this week.

I loved this show along with Cedar Cove. Having them back to back is even nicer. Thank you. I will be watching these and many other shows you have on there including the Christmas shows coming November 2. Very family oriented.
