The series premiere of BBC One’s new 13 episode family drama series Atlantis has added nearly 2 million viewers with 7 days of consolidation, it has been revealed.
The series premiere of Atlantis, which originally aired at 8:25pm on Saturday September 29th, was watched by 7.4 million viewers. That is up by some 1.8 million viewers or 32% on the initial audience of 5.6 million viewers. The strong figures for the show’s premiere episode comes after overnight data revealed that the series suffered only minimal ratings losses in its second week, scoring an overnight audience of 5.1 million viewers.
Meanwhile, Channel 4’s buzzy and expensive import Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. – which debuted to a solid 3.2 million viewers – has seen a significant bump in the ratings with consolidated figures factored in. Per said figures, the series premiere was watched by 4.5 million viewers. That is up 1.3 million viewers or 41% on the overnights and ranks as Channel 4’s best drama launch since 2009.
