CBS has picked up full seasons of their freshman comedy series The Crazy Ones, The Millers and Mom. The back nine orders bring the total number of episodes for the series’ first season to 22.
“We’re proud of CBS’s leadership position in comedy and excited to build on it with the back nine pick-ups of these three new comedies,” said Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment. “These series are creatively distinct, continue to improve each week and are led by strong showrunners, writing and production staffs, and feature amazingly talented casts.”
The full season orders for the three comedies had been expected given their strong ratings performance for CBS. The Crazy Ones currently ranks as the number one new comedy this season, averaging 13.7 million viewers and a 3.6 18-49 demo rating; The Millers ranks just behind as the number two comedy series, currently averaging 12.4 million viewers and a 3.2 18-49 demo; while Mom places as this season’s third most watched comedy series with 7.98 million viewers and a 2.6 rating in the demo.
With these pick ups, The Crazy Ones, The Millers and Mom become the first of CBS’ crop of freshman series to earn back nine orders, joining the likes of NBC’s The Blacklist and ABC’s Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., which have earned full seasons; and Fox’s Sleepy Hollow which has already been renewed for a 13 episode second season.
