Harry Enfield (Kevin & Perry) and Samantha Spiro (Psychobitches) are the latest actors who have landed guest roles on the second season of BBC Three’s comedy series Bad Education.
Both Enfield and Spiro are set to appear in the fourth episode of the show’s second season, which will be available from tomorrow on BBC iPlayer and will subsequently air on BBC Three on Tuesday September 24th at 10pm. Enfield has been cast as Martin, Alfie’s dad; while Spiro has been cast as Professor Green, Alfie’s Dad’s new love interest.
The series has the distinction of being the first scripted comedy to premiere early on BBC iPlayer as part of a new digital initiative being trialled by BBC Three. The move has been a success for the series; with the first episode of season 2 pulling in 1.5 million iPlayer requests in the week before broadcast, with a further 0.832 million viewers watching the episode on BBC Three on September 3rd. There were similar results for the second episode of Bad Education which once again pulled in 1.5 million iPlayer requests and an overnight audience of 0.928 million viewers, up nearly 12% on the overnight audience for the season 2 premiere. The third episode has been available on iPlayer for the past week, and will air on BBC Three tomorrow night at 10pm.
