The short-lived US adaptation of The Inbetweeners is getting a second broadcast in the UK.

MTV UK & Ireland has announced that they have acquired the 12 episode series, with plans to begin airing it from Monday September 9th at 10pm. This is the second UK sale for The Inbetweeners US, with E4 – who commissioned the original series upon which this adaptation is based – having previously acquired and aired the series late last year.

Based on the British series of the same name, The Inbetweeners was developed for US television by Brad Copeland and follows a group of friends who are “the inbetweeners” – not nerds or jocks, but kids who are smack in the middle of the high school social ladder. This group of teenagers are navigating high school and charging into adulthood the way everyone does by taking one step forward and three steps back. Whether humiliating themselves in an effort to impress the girl of their dreams, or mercilessly mocking their friend for driving a bright yellow clunker with a cassette player and one blue door, they are, whether they like it or not, the inbetweeners. The comedy series stars Joey Pollari as Will McKenzie, Bubba Lewis as Simon Cooper, Zack Pearlman as Jay Cartwright, Mark L. Young as Neil Sutherland and Alex Frnka as Carly D’Amato.
