EXCLUSIVE: UK fans will get to see the resolution of Showtime’s The Big C. I’ve just confirmed that More4 has picked up the UK rights to the four episode final season (titled Hereafter when it aired state-side) of the dark comedy series from Sony Pictures Television. I hear that the current plan is to begin airing the final season immediately after the show’s third season, which is currently airing on More 4, wraps its run in mid-September.
Created by Darlene Hunt, The Big C follows Catherine Jamison, a wife and mother who has been diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma, as she battles her illness with the support of her friends and family. Produced by Sony Pictures Television, the dramedy series stars Laura Linney, Oliver Platt, John Benjamin Hickey, Gabrielle Basso and Gabourey Sidibe.
In the show’s four-episode fourth and final season, we’ve come full circle with Cathy’s story – from her desire to live life to the fullest, to her realization that she’s never felt more alive. Now more than ever, with her friends and family at her side, Cathy is up to the challenge of living every day as if it were her last. Guest stars for season 4 include Brian Dennehy, Kathy Najimy and fashion icon Isaac Mizrahi.
