British actress Kelly Reilly has been cast as the lead in ABC’s upcoming 13 episode limited series The Black Box, TVWise has learned.

Reilly, whose previous credits include a lead role on ITV’s drama series Above Suspicion and more recently the Sherlock Holmes feature film series, will portray Elizabeth Black, a world-famous neuroscientist who unwraps the mysteries of the brain as she juggles complex issues of her own. The drama series is being produced by Bold Films with Anne Thomopoulos, Bryan Singer, Ilene Chaiken and Oly Obst serving as executive producers. Simon Curtis is attached to direct. Sierra/Engine is handling international distribution.
