Dana Davis (Franklin & Bash), Peter Macon (Law & Order) and Jonathan Tucker (The Black Donnellys) have joined the cast of Syfy’s upcoming 90 minute High Moon in recurring roles, while Charity Wakefield (Leaving) will also appear in a guest starring role. The join a cast which is being led by Chris Diamantopoulos (24) and Jake Sandvig (Easy A). Production on the pilot is slated to commence next week on location in Vancouver.
Davis has been cast as Yama Winehart, the cute, rugged, direct and charming daughter of General Winehart, who is also the first – and last – kid ever born on the moon; Macon as General Gale Lynn Winehart, a hard-as-nails American Army General who is intent on getting to the bottom of the explosion on the moon; Tucker as Stanslav “Stan” Stavin, a handsome and outgoing miner for the Russians. But there is more than meets the eye when it comes to this man; and Wakefield as Eve St. John-Smythe, the CEO of the world’s most profitable corporation and is responsible for opening up the moon by providing oxygen to the various countries there.
Based on The Lotus Caves, High Moon was developed by Jim Danger Gray and Bryan Fuller and explores what happens when Earth establishes colonies to mine the Moon’s resources and discover a new form of life. Chaos erupts in a genuinely emotional, humorously thrilling and always unexpected fashion as the colonists of the Moon race to uncover this life form’s powerful secrets. Universal Cable Productions and Lark Productions are producing with Cary Granat, Steve Granat, Don Murphy and Susan Montford serving as executive producers. Adam Kane is attached to direct.
