UKTV has closed a deal with Banijay International to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to Australian reality series RBT for its Watch channel. The deal is for all four seasons of the series, which airs on Nine Network in Australia.

RBT (Random Breath Test) is an observational documentary series that follows police and their endless fight to stop drink driving. As well as providing high entertainment value, RBT sends a powerful social message to viewers of all ages about the risk of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Each episode of RBT takes viewers behind police lines, exposing those reckless motorists that risk their own and other people’s lives every day, and focusing mainly on the drivers, their personal stories, and the ramifications and consequences of their actions. The half-hour series is produced by Screentime.

This marks the latest acquisition for the UKTV owned and operated Watch channel. Other recent acquisitions include Syfy’s adaptation of the BBC Three series Being Human from Zodiak Rights and, more recently, both seasons of the Canadian supernatural/medical drama series Saving Hope from international distributor Entertainment One (eOne).
