Sky Atlantic has released a trailer for the upcoming second season of NBC’s drama series Smash, which is set to premiere on Thursday July 18th at 9pm.
Created by Broadway veteran Theresa Rebeck, Smash follows what is involved in putting on a Broadway show based on the life of Marilyn Monroe titled Bombshell. The drama series is produced by Universal Television and stars Debra Messing, Jack Davenport, Katharine McPhee, Christian Borle, Megan Hilty, Raza Jaffrey, Jaime Cepero and Anjelica Huston. In the opening episode of the show’s second season, titled On Broadway, the Bombshell team are back in New York following a test-run in Boston, and while Eileen warns that no one’s contracts are safe, scandal puts the show’s fate in jeopardy. Meanwhile, Karen meets a new mentor in the form of Tony winner Veronica, and Derek is forced to cope with a very public and damaging accusation. Plus, new talent in the form of barman Kyle and waiter Jimmy is discovered in an unexpected place.
