The second season of ABC’s drama series Scandal will receive its UK premiere on More4 on Thursday July 4th at 9pm, it has been announced.

Created by Shonda Rhimes, Scandal follows Olivia Pope, a former White House Communications Director, who runs a crisis management firm in Washington DC; where she must protect the images of the political elite, including the President of the United States. The drama series is produced by ABC Studios and stars Kerry Washington, Columbus Short, Darby Stanchfield, Katie Lowes, Guillermo Diaz, Jeff Perry, Joshua Malina and Tony Goldwyn. The series, which became one of ABC’s highest rated dramas in its second season, was renewed for a third season last month.

In the opening episode of the show’s second season, titled White Hat’s Off, Quinn’s identity is finally revealed, and the more the Pope & Associates team learn about her past, the more they realise that she could be their biggest scandal yet. Meanwhile, a senator whose personal disgrace is about to become public seeks Olivia’s help, and President Fitz is stuck between a rock and hard place when Mellie and Cyrus put him in a compromising position during a live television interview.
