The third season of FX’s comedy series Wilfred will premiere on Thursday June 20th at 10/9c, it has been announced. For the first two weeks of its run the series will air back-to-back episodes, before taking a one week hiatus and then continuing to air one episode a week in the Thursday 10pm time-slot from July 11th.
Wilfred is based on the Australian TV series of the same name and was developed for American television by David Zuckerman. The series is about a young man, Ryan (Elijah Wood), struggling unsuccessfully to make his way in the world until he forms a unique friendship with Wilfred (Jason Gann), his neighbor’s pet dog. Everyone else sees Wilfred as just a dog, but Ryan sees a crude and somewhat surly, yet irrepressibly brave and honest Australian bloke in a cheap dog suit. The series is produced by FX Productions and stars Elijah Wood, Jason Gann, Fiona Gubelmann and Dorian Brown. Guest stars this season include Chris Klein, Mary Steenburgen, Dwight Yoakam, Gina Gershon, Angela Kinsey, Jenny Mollen and Lance Reddick.
