CBS isn’t quite done picking up new series for its 2013-2014 schedule. The network just picked up its drama pilot Reckless to series with a 13 episode order. It joins 2 other new drama series at the network, Hostages and Intelligence. While CBS has also given the greenlight to four sitcoms: Crazy Ones, The Millers (formerly known as Greg Garcia Project), Mom and We Are Men (formerly known as Untitled Rob Greenberg project).
Created by Dana Stevens, Reckless is described as a sultry legal show set in Charleston, South Carolina, where a gorgeous Yankee litigator and a Southern City Attorney struggle to hide their intense attraction while clashing over a police sex scandal. The drama is produced by CBS Television Studios and stars Cam Gidandet, Anna Wood, Shawn Hatosy, Gregory Harrison, Adam Rodriguez, Kim Wayans and Georgina Haig. The executive producers are Stevens, Kim Moses and Ian Sander.
The pick up of Reckless comes after CBS passed one of its most high profile projects: Beverly Hills Cop. That pilot, which was a continuation of the feature film series, had long been considered a lock for a series order. With CBS having passed, Sony Pictures Television is now pitching it to other networks. In addition to Beverly Hills Cop, another high-profile project has yet to receive word of its fate. That project is the NCIS: Los Angeles spin-off NCIS: Red. Once considered a lock for a pick up, things aren’t looking good for this third generation spin-off.
