EXCLUSIVE: BBC One has locked down the main cast for its upcoming six episode drama series By Any Means, which is currently in production in Birmingham. My sources tell me that Elliot Knight (Sinbad), Warren Brown (Good Cop), Shelley Conn (Terra Nova), Gina McKee (The Borgias) and Andrew Lee Potts (Primeval) have been cast in the drama as series regulars. I’m also told that Claudia Jessie (Doctors), Richard Lumsden (Vexed) and Paul Thornley (Silk) have landed roles on the series, which (as TVWise previously reported) is being directed by Charlie Palmer.
Created by a writing team comprised of Tony Jordan, Richard Zajdlic, James Payne, Jeff Povey and Richard Lazarus, By Any Means has been described as a “gritty police drama” which follows police officer Jack Quinn who runs a clandestine police department that, when the legal system fails, go to any lengths to bring the criminal elite to justice. Quinn’s shadowy and brilliant team will go about their business, exploiting weaknesses, weaving a web of cunning and deception that leads the unwary target into the arms of justice. Tony Jordan, Belinda Campbell and Poly Holl will executive produce.
