Created by Carlton Cuse, Bates Motel was inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho and is a contemporary exploration of the formative years of Norman Bates’ relationship with his mother, Norma, and the world they inhabit. The series explores the dark, twisted back-story and how Norma helped forge the most famous serial killer of them all. Bates Motel is produced by Universal Television & Carlton Cuse and stars Freddie Highmore, Vera Farmiga, Max Thieriot, Nicola Peltz and Olivia Cooke.

Look, I like adult themed movies and shows. I don’t want censorship. But the movies that are coming out are just blood and guts. They use to be released around Halloween. I thought a little bit of Halloween gore was okay. BUT now they have “Bates Motel” where the mom is “having relations” with the boy. Nasty. Nasty. Nasty. Why promote that? What if the series was about an adult man doing the same to his daughter?
