Based on the series of the same name which just recently started airing on the Oxygen Network in the United States, The Face will see Campbell and two other supermodels will each choose four girls to mentor and guide as members of their exclusive teams. Over eight weeks, the three teams will have to compete in a series of real life fashion industry challenges for some of Britain’s best known brands, including photo shoots, runway shows and commercials. The rival supermodel mentors will be fighting to keep all their girls in the competition but each week one must leave. The decision about who goes lies in the hands of the supermodel that mentors the winning team. In the end, only one supermodel mentor will triumph to see one of their handpicked girls become “The Face” – an ambassador who will represent a major brand in print, on-air and in person at national events. The series is being co produced by Princess Productions and Shine TV.
“I am looking for the ultimate model. It doesn’t matter where you are from or who you are, The Face is about one thing. I’m looking for contestants who have the whole package – a beautiful face, great body, unique look, confidence, drive and passion, the ability to change and transform a willingness to follow direction, and, above all, a strong work ethic”, said executive producer Naomi Campbell. “Bringing the show over from the US is a real honour and it’s great to be working with Princess Productions and Shine TV– UK talent is world class, so I’m really looking forward to uncovering our next rising star. The show is a real insight into the modelling world, it’s authentic and fast paced”.
