BBC One’s one-off TV movie The Lady Vanishes will premiere on Sunday March 17th at 8:30pm, it has been announced.
Based on the novel The Wheel Spins, The Lady Vanishes was adapated by Fiona Seres and follows the spoilt but beautiful Iris (Tuppence Middleton) who, while returning home from a holiday in the Balkans, is befriended on the train by an English woman she knows only as Miss Froy (Selina Cadell). Iris falls asleep, and when she awakes some hours later, Miss Froy has vanished. Fearing madness and risking death, Iris desperately tries to solve the sudden disappearance of her traveling companion. The drama also stars Keeley Hawes (Spooks), Gemma Jones (Bridget Jones’s Diary), Stephanie Cole (Doc Martin), Julian Rhind-Tutt (Notting Hill), Tom Hughes (Silk), Alex Jennings (Silk), Sandy McDade (Jane Eyre), Pip Torrens (Pride and Prejudice), Benedikte Hansen (Borgen), Jesper Christensen (Melancholia), Emerald Fennell (Any Human Heart), Charles Aitken (Bonkers) and Daisy Lewis (Doctor Who).
