The Roux Scholarship is moving up the EPG. UKTV has announced that the format, which has previously aired on the network’s Good Food channel, is moving to Watch. The new series on Watch has been given an order for 10 episodes and UKTV has also commissioned a 7 episode companion series which will air on Good Food, with recipes from that show then made available on Good Food’s website.
Commissioned by UKTV’s Director of Commissioning, Jane Rogerson and UKTV Controller Emma Tennant and Steve Hornsey, General Manager of Watch, The Roux Scholarship televises the legendary competition in which the legendary family and an incredible line-up of judges complete their annual search for a new culinary scholar, who they will develop into one of the UK’s top chefs. The series is being produced by Cactus TV, with Amanda Ross serving as the executive producer.
Speaking of the commission, UKTV’s Jane Rogerson said: “The Roux Scholarship is much more than a cooking show – it is an opportunity to join the legendary Roux family and a stellar line-up of judges as they search for the UK’s next culinary star, in the most challenging and high octane culinary competition on television.”
While Steve Hornsey, General Manager for Watch, added: “We’re delighted to be teaming up with Cactus TV and the Roux family members for this truly extraordinary 10-part series. Not only will it showcase the phenomenal talent of the judging panel but Watch viewers will also have a ringside seat throughout this competition, which is unlike any other.”
