On the heels of BSkyB announcing a raft of new drama commissions for 2013, Sky1 has given a 5 episode order to a new travel series titled The Moaning of Life.
Fronted by former An Idiot Abroad cast member Karl Pilkington, The Moaning of Life will see Karl going it alone on a journey of self-discovery. Now Karl has turned 40 and has officially hit middle age, he’s ready to re-assess his life. the series will see Karl set off around the world to experience how other cultures face up to life’s big issues as he makes plans for his future. The 5 episode series is being produced by Me & You Productions and RoundEd Productions with Celia Taylor, Richard Yee and Krishnendu Majumdar serbing as executive producers.
Speaking of The Moaning of Life, Karl Pilkington said: “I’ve been on the planet for 40 years now, and I’m still none the wiser as to what it’s all about really. I’ve never worried about life’s big questions. People at my age sit about pondering about ‘why are we here?’ The only time I ever asked meself that is when Suzanne booked us a surprise holiday to Lanzarote.”
