EXCLUSIVE: Last month Sky Living announced the commission of Love Matters, a strand of six comedy one-offs (not dissimilar to Sky1’s Little Crackers). The six one-off’s that were announced were to be produced by various production companies ranging from various indies to ITV Studios. One such one-off was to be produced by independent production company Channel X and was titled Officially Special. My sources are telling me that not only has Channel X found its cast and director for Officially Special but that the one-off completed shooting earlier this month.

According to my sources the one-off was directed by Chris Cottam and produced by Sally Martin. The cast includes Katherine Parkinson (The IT Crowd), Emma Pierson (Little Dorrit) Steve Edge (Phoenix Nights), Dan Frendenburgh (The Bourne Ultimatum), Ian Smith (White Heat) and Fergus Craig (Popatron). Officially Special follows World Records Official Jo Pepper (Katherine Parkinson) as she presides over some of the most bizarre and banal record attempts whilst juggling her own increasingly complicated personal life.
