The Australian TV movie Jack Irish: Bad Debts will receive its UK premiere on FX UK on Friday December 14th at 9pm, it has been announced.

Bad Debts is a two hour TV movie which forms part of the Jack Irish series of telemovies which were recently acquired by FX UK. The Jack Irish series is based on the novels by Peter Temple and follows the eponymous character who is just getting his life back together again. A former criminal lawyer whose world imploded, he now spends his days as a part-time investigator, debt collector, apprentice cabinet maker, punter and sometime lover – the complete man really. An expert in finding those who don’t want to be found – dead or alive, Jack helps out his mates while avoiding the past. That is until the past finds him.

In this first TV Movie, a phone message from ex-client Danny McKillop doesn’t ring any bells for Jack Irish. Life is hard enough without having to dredge up old problems: his beloved football team has moved interstate, the odds on his latest plunge at the track seem far too long and he’s still cooking for one. But then Danny turns up dead and Jack has to take a walk back into a dark and dangerous past. Jack Irish: Bad Debts is produced by Essential Media & Entertainment in association with ABC TV, Screen Australia & Film Victoria and starsGuy Pearce, Aaron Pederson, Marta Dusseldorp, Shane Jacobson, Roy Billing, Colin Friels, Steve Bisley, Damien Richardson, Emma Booth and Vadim Glowna.
