David ‘The Hoff’ Hasselhoff is set to appear on a special themed episode of quiz show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? which will air on ITV1 on Sunday December 9th at 6:40pm. The pantomime themed special, titled Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Pantomime, will see the contestants dress up as characters from fairy tales and folk legends. In addition to Hasselhoff, Denise Welch, Tim Vine, Cheryl Fergison, John Partridge and Alison Hammond will be competing to win as much money as possible for their chosen charities. The special will be hosted by Chris Tarrant with the money won by the contestants shared 50/50 between their charities and one lucky viewer at home.
David Hasselhoff will be playing alongside Loose Women presenter Denise Welch. Hasselhoff will be attempting to raise money for Pengeulan Primary School in Wales, while Welch’s chosen charity is The Olivia Arnold Trust. Stand up comedian Tim Vine will be partnered with EastEnders actress Cheryl Fergison, with Vine aiming to raise cash for The Cure Parkinson’s Trust and Fergison competing on behalf of hospice at home charity ChYps. Finally, John Partridge and Alison Hammond will be partnered, with Partridge raising money for The Terrence Higgins Trust while Hammond’s chosen charity is is hoping to win the lucrative six figure cheque for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
Speaking of his involvement, David Hasselhoff said: “One minute I’m terrified, the next I can’t wait to jump in to the seat. I’ve been gearing up and I’m ready to face the million pound question. I’m playing for Pengeulan Primary School in Wales, a school close to my heart, I just hope I can win some big bucks for them.”
Stand up comedian Tim Vine commented: “I’m looking forward to appearing on the show very much. My previous best was one thousand pounds so I’d be happy if the show was called ‘who wants to win more than a thousand pounds.”
While TV presenter Alison Hammond said: “I’m really excited about Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? I’ve downloaded the app on my iPhone but can’t get past £8k. However, when I met John Partridge I felt we were a match made in heaven.”
