Channel 4 Picks Up Greg Davies' Comedy Pilot 'Man Down' To Series – TVWise

Channel 4 has picked up Greg Davies’ comedy pilot Man Down to series with a six episode order.
Created by Greg Davies (The Inbetweeners), Man Down revolves around Dan (Greg Davies) a childish idiot trapped in an adults life. Dan has crushing character flaws, an unwanted teaching job, uniquely dysfunctional friends and a wilfully insane Dad, who all conspire to keep this Man down. The comedy series is being produced by Avalon Television, with James Taylor, Richard Allen-Turner and Jon Thoday serving as executive producers and Matt Lipsey on board as series director.
Speaking of Man Down, Nerys Evans, Acting Head of Comedy for Channel 4, said: “We’re really delighted to work with Greg on a series of ‘Man Down’, he’s created a brilliantly observed world which is laugh out loud funny and a perfect fit for Channel 4 comedy. It’s thrilling to have this exceptional comedian’s first solo project on the channel.”
While series creator and star Greg Davies said: “It is a dream come true that Channel 4 have commissioned my sitcom, I promise that all of the characters will be humiliated at every turn, regularly physically attacked and, at some point, fully naked in every episode.”
