USA Network Renews ‘Suits’ For Third Season

USA Network has renewed their legal dramedy series Suits for a third season of 16 episodes, which is set to air in 2013.

Suits was created by Aaron Korsh and follows Mike Ross, a college dropout with an eidetic memory who, before being kicked out of college for selling an exam paper, once dreamed of becoming an attorney. After Mike wonders into an office while evading the police, he impresses Harvey Specter who then proceeds to hires him as a less-than-legal associate for the law firm of Pearson Hardman. Produced by Universal Cable Productions, the drama series stars Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Gina Torres, Rick Hoffman, Meghan Markle and Sarah Rafferty.

The renewal of Suits had long been considered a foregone conclusion. The drama series ranks as one of USA Network’s highest rated summer series and was this summers top drama on basic cable for adults 18-49. The summer finale of of Suits hit a season ratings high across all demos, delivering 6.5 million total viewers. The show will return to USA Network in January to air the remaining six episodes of season 2.

Speaking of the renewal of Suits, Jeff Wachtel and Chris McCumber, Co-Presidents of USA Network, said: “Quite simply, Suits is as good as it gets. Sophisticated storytelling, sharp dialogue, and award-worthy performances make this show a cornerstone of our original programming lineup.”
