ZDF Enterprises & Content Television To Distribute BBC Two’s Drama Series ‘The Fall’

ZDF Enterprises and Content Television have acquired the international distribution rights to BBC Two’s upcoming drama series The Fall. ZDF Enterprises will distribute the drama series in continental Europe, while Content Television will handle distribution in all other territories (excluding the UK). The series will be shopped to international buyers at MIPCOM 2012, which begins on October 8th in Cannes, France.

The Fall was created by Alan Cubitt and revolves around a PSNI (Police Service of Northern Ireland) investigation in Belfast into a string of Murders. After the PSNI are unable to make any progress on the case(s), Detective Superintendent Gibson, who is on secondment from London’s Metropolitan Police Service, arrives at the Belfast police station to review the murder investigation and close the case. The drama series is being produced by Artists Studio and stars Gillian Anderson as Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson and Jamie Dornan as Paul Spector, a serial killer who is terrorising the city of Belfast. Also starring in the series is Archie Panjabi (The Good Wife), Bronagh Waugh (Hollyoaks), Niamh McGrady (Upstairs Downstairs), Gerard McCarthy (Hollyoaks), Emmett Scanlan (Hollyoaks), Karen Hassan (Hollyoaks), John Lynch (The Jury), Simon Delaney (Roy) and Séainín Brennan (Hidden).
