Exclusive: The Lying Game is making a move. Multiple sources are telling me that the series has been pulled from its Thursday night 8pm time-slot on 5*, effective immediately. However, I’m being told that rather than staying off the air for two or three months before re-appearing in a daytime slot, as was the case with Parenthoood, The Lying Game is instead jumping to sister channel 5USA, where it will return in its new 12pm Saturday time-slot on September 29th with an all new episode.
The Lying Game was created by Sara Shepard and follows identical twins Emma Becker and Sutton Mercer, who were seperated at birth and have led very different lives, each oblivious to the other’s existence until circumstances bring them back together. Yearning for the family she never had, Emma agrees to help Sutton with her plan to find their birth parents by stepping into her life for a few days, setting in motion a web of secrecy and lies. The drama series is produced by Alloy Entertainment & Warner Horizon Television and stars Alexandra Chando, Andy Buckley, Blair Redford, Sharon Pierre-Louis, Kirsten Prout, Alice Greczyn, Allie Gonino and Helen Slater.
The next new episode, titled Pleased To Meet Me (airing Saturday September 29th on 5USA at 12:05pm), picks up where the last episode left off with Sutton gatecrashing Emma, Ethan and Thayer’s memorial for her, held after they jumped to the conclusion that she must be dead. As it turns out, she did almost die, something she proves by sweeping back her hair to reveal a large Harry Potter-style gash on her forehead. Although Sutton denies sending the black-and-white box, she has a history of playing pranks, and the friends are not sure whether to believe her or not.
