TBS Renews 'Sullivan & Son' For Second Season – TVWise

TBS has renewed freshman comedy series Sullivan & Son for a second season of 10 episodes, which is set to air in 2013.
Sullivan and Son stars Steve Byrne (who also serves as a producer), Dan Lauria, Jodi Long, Owen Benjamin, Vivian Bang, Brian Doyle Murray, Christine Ebersole and Valerie Azlynn. The series revolves around Steve Sullivan (Byrne), a successful attorney from New York, who takes his girlfriend to his home town of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where his family owns and runs the local bar. Upon arriving in the town, Steve starts to reconnect with all of his old friends and the members of his family he hasn’t seen in years. It is then that Steve realises that what he really wants is to move back to Pittsburgh and take over the bar.
Over the course of its ten episode first season, Sullivan & Son has been averaging more than 2.5 million viewers and ranks as one of the Top 25 new summer series on television. The comedy series joins the recently renewed Men At Work and fellow comedy series Cougar Town (which moved from ABC to TBS for its upcoming fourth season) and Tyler Perry’s For Better or Worse; all of which will return to TBS in 2013.
Speaking of the renewal of Sullivan & Son, Michael Wright, President and head of programming for TNT, TBS and TCM, said: “Sullivan & Son has gotten off to a strong start, quickly building its own fan base. We’ve had a great time working with Steve Byrne, Vince Vaughn, Peter Billingsley, Rob Long and the wonderful cast and crew of Sullivan & Son, and we look forward to seeing the show continue to grow in 2013.”
