Update: I have just heard back from representatives of Syfy who are telling me that Rewind has not been picked up to series at this stage and no decisions have been made on the pickup as it is “far too early” for such a decision.
Exclusive: Has Syfy picked up its latest original drama project Rewind to series? A document leaked to TVWise (You can view the document in question here), would appear to indicate that the drama, which is currently filming its pilot episode in Canada, has been picked up with a 13 episode order. Furthermore, the document, which I’m told was generated for internal use at the network, indicates that the series has been given the 10pm time-slot on Monday nights and will premiere on July 15, 2013, with the season finale scheduled for October 14, 2013.
I have been unable to independently confirm whether or not the facts contained within the document are 100% accurate and as such should be treated as rumour, although I have no reason to doubt the source that leaked said document to us. TVWise has also reached out to the network for confirmation, however, repesentatives of Syfy did not immediately respond to our requests for comment.
Rewind revolves around a team of military field operatives and civilian scientists who must use untested technology to travel back in time to alter events and change the future and avoid a devastating terrorist attack. Shane McRae stars as Sean Knox, ex-Special Forces who ranks as a field operative in a special division of the Department of Homeland Security. The pilot also stars Jennifer Ferrin, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Robbie Jones and Keon Mohajeri.
This was one of several Syfy documents that were leaked to TVWise earlier this week. More to come…..
