Cillian Murphy (28 Days Later), Sam Neill (The Tudors), Helen McCrory (Harry Potter), Annabelle Wallis (Snow White And The Huntsman), Iddo Goldberg (Secret Diary Of A Call Girl) and Charlie Creed-Miles (Nil By Mouth) have joined the cast of BBC Two’s upcoming gangster drama series Peaky Blinders.

Peaky Blinders is a new period drama created by Steven Knight which is set in Birmingham in 1919 and follows the extended Delaney family whose many brothers, sisters, cousins and uncles make up the fiercest gang of post-war Birmingham: the ‘Peaky Blinders.’ The gang got their name for their practise of sewing razor blades into the peaks of their caps, and they make their money from off track betting, protection and robbery. The gang is led by Tommy (Cillian Murphy), the most ruthless brother of them all, whose leadership is about to be put to the test. A ruthless new police chief C.I. Campbell (Sam Neill) arrives in town from Belfast to clean up the city and, perhaps more lethally, a beautiful woman Grace Burgess (Annabelle Wallis) arrives in the neighborhood with a mysterious past and a dangerous secret. The drama series is being produced by Caryn Mandabach Productions and Tiger Aspect Productions, with Steven Knight, Caryn Mandabach, Greg Brenman, Jamie Glazebrook, Frith Tiplady and Matthew Read serving as executive producers.
