Exclusive: Channel 5 has closed deals with Warner Bros. International Television Distribution and CBS Studios International to acquire the free-to-air rights to the third season of Chuck and the ninth and tenth seasons of NCIS, respectively.

Sources familiar with the deal between Channel 5 and Warner Bros. International Television Distribution tell me that it includes a clause preventing Channel 5 from airing the show’s third season until 2013. The show’s third season has previously been broadcast in the UK by Sky Living, who aired the first four seasons of the series before deciding not to pick up the rights to season five.

My sources are also telling me that the deal between Channel 5 and CBS Studios International includes a clause preventing Channel 5 from airing the ninth season of NCIS until 2013 and the show’s tenth season until 2014. The exclusive first run UK pay TV rights to NCIS are retained by FX UK, who will be airing the show’s tenth season in early 2013.
