Stella was co-created by, and stars, Ruth Jones as the titular character and revolves around her often troubled life in Pontyberry, South Wales. The down-to-earth family saga which gives an authentic slice of the working-class Welsh Valleys debuted as the second biggest UK comedy launch in multichannel history. Also starring in the comedy series is Craig Gallivan, Catrin Stewart, Rory Girvan, Justin Davies, Elizabeth Berrington, Owen Teale, Julian Lewis Jones, Karen Paullada, Steve Speirs, Kenny Doughty and Mark Lewis Jones.
Speaking of the early renewal of Stella, Lucy Lumsden, Head of Comedy for Sky Entertainment, said: “Stella was a huge success and with filming already going so well on series two I am thrilled Ruth will be returning to our customers’ screens for a third series. Stella has been a massive part of Sky’s comedy achievements over the last 18 months and we are very proud to have Ruth and Tidy Productions on board for another brilliant series.”
