Sky Living’s first original comedy series Gates will premiere on Tuesday August 14th at 8:30pm, it has been announced.

Produced by Feelgood Fiction, Gates follows Mark and Helen Pearson who have recently moved to the South East, where their nine-year-old daughter is starting at a new primary school. Helen warns the family that the critical minutes at the entrance must be executed with military precision. If they can’t resist being sucked into the world of after-school coffee clubs and ‘volunteering’ for events now, there’ll be no escape. However, the protocol is all new to Mark and it doesn’t quite go to plan. He knocks over a pupil’s father, gets roped into giving a presentation to the students and Ofsted, and is followed home by a horde of parents and children expecting a drinks do. And it quickly gets worse for the Gates’. The comedy series stars Sue Johnston (The Royle Family), Tom Ellis (Miranda), Joanna Page (Gavin and Stacey), Tony Gardner (Lead Balloon), Catherine Shepherd (The IT Crowd), Nick Mohammed (Horne and Cordon), Adam Deacon (Being Human), Toby Wharton (Silent Witness), Nadine Marshall (The Shadow Line), Ella Kenion (The Catherine Tate Show) and Will Andrews (Pixelface).
