Sky1’s dramedy series Mount Pleasant is jumping channels to Sky Living for its nine episode second season, which is set to premiere on Wednesday August 22nd at 9pm.

Created by Sarah Hooper, Mount Pleasant follows the daily lives of Lisa, her husband, her family and her friends. In the show’s first season Lisa discovered that another woman was making a play for her husband Dan and sexy singleton Jack arrived in town and started toying with her emotions. Mount Pleasant stars Sally Lindsay as Lisa, Daniel Ryan as Dan, Pauline Collins as Sue, Bobby Ball as Barry, Angela Griffin as Shelley, Sian Reeves as Bianca, Liza Tarbuck as Kate, Owen McDonnell as Jack and Ainsley Howard as Denise. Joining the cast this season is Robson Green (Being Human) and George Sampson (Street Dance 3D). Green will play Lisa and Dan’s new neighbour Chris, while Sampson will play Bianca’s step son Gary.

In the show’s nine episode second season, Jack appears a changed man and Lisa and Dan are back to their usual ways. Lisa’s best friends – and workmates – Shelley (Griffin) and Denise (Howard) need her more than ever, as they are struggling to adjust to their new lives with Shelley entering the world of dating as a sexy singleton and Denise adjusting to life as a working single mother. Denise’s relationship with boss and smooth talker Fergus (Neil Fitzmaurice) was turbulent at best, and series two will see Fergus trying to win his way back into their lives.

Speaking of Mount Pleasant‘s move to Sky Living, Stuart Murphy, Sky’s Director of Entertainment, said: “Mount Pleasant perfectly epitomises what Sky Living should be – smart, funny, mischievous, stylish, accessible, high quality and very, very real. I have admired Sarah Hooper’s work since the first series – she “gets” modern women, modern relationships and modern Britain. And she has a cracking sense of humour. I feel privileged to be able to bring her work to a big female channel like Sky Living HD.”
