Veteran animated series The Simpsons will return to Sky 1’s schedule to finish airing its twenty-third season from Sunday July 8th, with a double-bill airing from 6pm, it has been announced.

In the first new episode (airing at 6pm), titled The Food Wife, Marge, Bart and Lisa enter the world of food blogging as ‘The Three Mouthketeers’ and soon taste success, scoring a reservation at Springfield’s most exclusive restaurant. A dream featuring Anthony Bourdain, Mario Batali and Gordon Ramsay, however, makes Marge reconsider inviting Homer to the meal.

In the second episode (airing at 6:30pm), titled The Book Job, Homer unleashes his inner author and tries to cash in on the craze for tween literature. The market for sparkly vampires and dictatorship-thwarting child warriors has already been cornered, so Homer calls in a favour with acclaimed fantasy writer Neil Gaiman. Their tome proves to be a veritable page-turner, attracting the attention of a publishing bigwig played by Oscar nominee Andy Garcia.
