Lifetime Picks Up Marc Cherry’s ‘Devious Maids’ To Series

Marc Cherry’s pilot Devious Maids, which didn’t make the cut over at ABC, has been picked up by Lifetime and given a 13 episode order, with the network eyeing a 2013 premiere.

Based on the Mexican telenovela Ellas son la Alegría del Hogar, Devious Maids follows the lives of five maids with ambition and dreams of their own while they work for the rich and famous in Beverly Hills. The drama series stars Ana Ortiz (Ugly Betty), Judy Reyes (The Pregnancy Project), Dania Ramirez (Entourage), Roselyn Sanchez (Without a Trace), Edy Ganem (Livin’ Loud), Grant Show (Swing Town), Brianna Brown (Homeland), Rebecca Wisocky (American Horror Story), Tom Irwin (Grey’s Anatomy), Mariana Klaveno (True Blood), Brett Cullen (Damages), Drew Van Acker (Pretty Little Liars) and Susan Lucci (All My Children). Devious Maids is produced by ABC Studios with Marc Cherry, Sabrina Wind, Eva Longoria, Paul McGuigan, Larry Shuman, David Lonner, John Mass, Paul Presburger and Michael Garcia serving as executive producers.
