The fifth season of USA Network’s espionage-themed drama series Burn Notice will receive its UK premiere on FX UK on Monday July 16th at 9pm, it has been announced.

Burn Notice was created by Matt Nix and follows Michael Westen, a former CIA operative who was blacklisted (or ‘burned’) by the agency. Michael, with the assistance of his mother, ex girlfriend Fiona and his friends Sam Axe and Jesse Porter, takes on cases as a unlicensed private investigator while he also investigates why he was burned and attempts to reclaim his position at the CIA. The drama series stars Jeffrey Donovan as Michael Westen, Sharon Gless as Madeline Westen, Gabrielle Anwar as Fiona Glenanne, Bruce Campbell as Sam Axe and Coby Bell as Jesse Porter.

In the show’s fifth season, which runs 18 episodes, Michael finds himself back at the CIA working as a contractor, where he is kept busy hunting down every single member of the organisation that had him blacklisted four years ago. However, things get complicated when, just as Michael is about to be re-instated as a full CIA operative, he is framed for the murder of his partner. Michael’s only options are to cover the murderer’s tracks or spend the rest of his life in prison. After destroying the evidence that implicates him, Michael sets out to find the real killer. But can he find out who killed out his partner, and why, before somebody else points the finger at him?
