Upfronts 2012: The CW Announces Fall Schedule

The CW’s announcement of their 2012-2013 fall schedule, as expected, contained a large number of changes from last season. First of all, with five new series and an extra fifty hours of original programming, the network has announced they will pushing back their fall launch’s until October, as opposed to previous launches in early September.

Veteran series 90210 is on the move to Monday nights, where it has been given the 8pm time-slot and will serve as the lead-in to the 11 episode final season of Gossip Girl. Hart of Dixie is moving to Tuesday nights, also in the 8pm time-slot, where it is being paired with new series Emily Owens, M.D. (formerly known as First Cut). Arrow has been given the 8pm time-slot on Wednesday nights. Supernatural is also on the move, with the series leaving its long time home on Friday nights for the 9pm time-slot on Wednesday nights. The Vampire Diaries is staying put on Thursdays and will serve as the lead in to new series Beauty And The Beast, which has been given the 9pm time-slot. Elsewhere, new series The Carrie Diaries and Cult are being held back for mid-season.
