As is usually the case for CBS, the network’s announcement of their fall 2012-2013 schedule included a number of big scheduling changes.

Two And A Half Men is moving to Thursday nights, where it will air behind the ratings juggernaut that is The Big Bang Theory. 2 Broke Girls is also on the move and will now occupy the 9pm time-slot on Monday nights. Elsewhere, The Mentalist is moving to Sunday nights; where it will air behind new episodes of The Good Wife. New series Vegas has inherited the 10pm Tuesday night time-slot from the recently cancelled Unforgettable.

Elementary, CBS’ modern take on Sherlock Holmes, has been given the 10pm time-slot on Thursday nights behind Person of Interest, while Made In Jersey has been handed the 9pm time-slot on Friday nights, wedged between new episodes of CSI: NY and Blue Bloods. Being held back for mid-season is new series Friend Me and Golden Boy. Conspicuously absent from the schedule is veteran comedy series Rules of Engagement. I’m told that CBS has yet to make a decision on the future of the series and negotiations between the network and series producer Sony Pictures Television are ongoing.
