The fifth and final season of legal drama series Damages will premiere on DirecTV’s Audience Network on Wednesday July 11th at 9/8c, it has been announced.

Damages follows the lives of Patty Hewes, the nation’s most revered and reviled high-stakes litigator and her former protégé, the bright and ambitious Ellen Parsons. After four seasons of professional and personal manipulation and deceit, season five sets the stage for the final showdown between Patty and Ellen.

Ryan Phillipe joins the main cast this season as Channing McClaren, a computer expert and the iconoclastic founder of a website, McClarenTruth.org, devoted to government and corporate transparency.

Guest stars for the fifth and final season of Damages includes Jenna Elfman as Naomi Walling, an investment bank employee troubled by her company’s conduct; Janet McTeer as Kate Franklin, a one time colleague of Patty’s who is all too familiar with how she operates, but whose loyalty could be called into question and John Hannah as Rutger Simon, the chief lieutenant and gatekeeper for McClaren.
