Universal Channel does have the UK broadcast rights to the second season of Canadian drama series King, TVWise has confirmed. I’m being told that the deal Universal inked with Beta film to acquire the series was for exclusive first run rights to both seasons of the show.

The first season of King, which comprises 8 episodes, received its UK premiere on the channel on Thursday April 5th at 10pm.

King was created by Bernard Zukerman and Greg Spottiswood and stars Amy Price-Francis (24) as Detective Jessica King of the Toronto Police Service, who is called in to head up the Major Crimes Task Force when her predecessor, Detective Sergeant Derek Spears, has a meltdown on national television.

TVWise will bring you the UK Premiere Date for the show’s second season just as soon as it is announced.
