Viva has set a premiere date for its latest acquisition, Canadian animated series Crash Canyon. The series is set to receive its UK premiere on Monday March 19th at 10:30pm

Crash Canyon revolves around the activities of the Wendell family, who don’t usually spend that much time together. To remedy the situation, the patriach of the family, Norm Wendell, hires a campervan and he and the family set of on an impromptu vacation. But with all four Wendell’s in a confined space, motoring between tourist attractions, scenic vistas and the occasional point of interest, the trip turns out to be a disaster when Norm accidentally drives the van over a cliff. They land relatively unscathed into a canyon, where they find that they are not the only ones who have managed to drive off the cliff and into the canyon. A small shanty town has been built in the canyon by other families who have befallen the same fate. All of the residents hope they will be able to escape, but until one of their plans actually works, they make up this impromptu community known only as “Crash Canyon.”

The series was developed by Joel Cohen (Co-executive producer, The Simpsons), and is produced by Breakthrough Entertainment in association with Teletoon, who air the series in Canada. The show’s first season runs 13 episodes. Teletoon has already renewed the series for a second season.
