TBS has greenlit production on a new comedy series created by Steve Byrne and Rob Long titled Sullivan and Son. The network has ordered 10 episodes for the show’s first season which is slated to premiere in the summer alongside new series’ Men At Work and The Wedding Band.
Sullivan and Son stars Steve Byrne (who also serves as a producer), Dan Lauria, Jodi Long, Owen Benjamin, Vivian Bang, Brian Doyle Murray, Christine Ebersole and Valerie Azlynn. The series revolves around Steve Sullivan (Byrne), a successful attorney from New York, who takes his girlfriend to his home town of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where his family owns and runs the local bar. Upon arriving in the town, Steve starts to reconnect with all of his old friends and the members of his family he hasn’t seen in years. It is then that Steve realises that what he really wants is to move back to Pittsburgh and take over the bar.
Speaking of the pickup, Michael Wright, executive vice president and head of programming for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies, said: “Sullivan and Son is a smart, funny, workplace comedy from the distinct comedy voices of Steve Byrne and Rob Long. The barstools at Sullivan’s bar are filled with outrageous, unique characters, and Steve and Rob have created an outstanding in which they can shine. We are extremely proud of this show and look forward to spending many nights throwing one back with the regulars at Sullivan & Son.”
