FX has renewed espionage themed animated series Archer for a fourth season. The cable network has given the series a 13 episode order for its fourth season. Compared to its season two averages, new episodes of Archer’s third season are delivering significant ratings gains: +62% in Adults 18-34, +44% in Adults 18-49 and +32% in Total Viewers.
Speaking of the renewal, Nick Grad, Executive Vice President of Original Programming for FX, said “It was an easy decision to order more Archer. Adam, Matt, and our amazing voice cast are delivering one of the funniest and smartest shows on television. It has deservedly grown beyond its initial cult following to become both a critical and ratings success. It is a true asset to the FX comedy roster.”
It was also announced that FX Productions has signed an overall deal with Archer executive producers Adam Reed and Matthew Thompson. The deal means that the duo will stay with FX for another two years (with an option for an additional two years), where they will produce any future seasons of Archer and also develop new projects for the cable network. The deal also means that Floyd County Productions will continue as animators on Archer, Unsupervised and any new animated series produced by FX Productions or developed by FX.
