Homeland, the chilling series from 24’s Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon, is coming to Channel 4. The series will premiere in the UK on Sunday February 19th at 9:30pm, the channel has confirmed.

The series stars Claire Danes as Carrie Mathison, Damien Lewis as Nicholas Brody, Mandy Patinkin as Saul Berenson, David Harewood as David Estes, Diego Klattenhoff as Mike Faber, Morena Baccarin as Jessica Brody, Jackson Pace as Chris Brody and Morgan Saylor as Dana Brody and begins shortly after a delta force raid on an Al-Qaeda complex results in the rescue of Nicholas Brody, a US Marine who has been MIA in Iraq since 2003. Almost immediately, CIA Operations Officer Carrie Matthison begins to suspect something is wrong as only months beforehand a source in a Baghdad prison had revealed to her that an American prisoner of war had been turned. Now Carrie must investigate the Marine who is being paraded as a national hero and make sure he is not, in fact, an Al-Qaeda operative.

Homeland, which airs in the United States on Showtime, was created by Howard Gordon, Alex Gansa and Gideon Raff and is based of Raff’s original Israeli series Hatufim (AKA Prisoners Of War). The series won the Golden Globe award for Best New Drama Series and has already been renewed by Showtime for a second season.
